In order to create a GWR 517 Class using the body shells available elsewhere in this store, it is necessary to remove the front Sand Boxes from the 14XX chassis as the 517s carried them on top of the footplate rather than below.
I originally intended that these should be sawn off each side, but have found that it is easier to simply unscrewing the moulding that joins them together.However, If you choose the latter the body will slope forward around half a milimetre.
To rectify this on two of the body shells (The closed cab and open cab with round topped firebox) I have created this optional part which should be glued tight up against the front buffer beam (the rectangular hole through the print being horizontal with the small locating tab projecting upwards. The open cab body with the Belper fire box has a slightly different front end moulding so it is not necessary to purchase this part for that model
