Product Description
Re-listed due to request, was withdrawn from sale when Shapeways October 7th price increase took effect (60% price increase makes offering for sale under the idea that it is cheap to print pointless). 20 foot Tramway Carriage. Freelance tramway passenger carriage. Design based of the enclosed carriages of the 2ft gauge Innisfail Tramway in Queensland, Australia, and modified to represent a hypothetical more modern timber-framed steel panelled version that has had electric lighting fitted. Design parameters was to produce a carriage that is cheap to print while looking realistic. This version of the model contains the roof, body, and floor/frame. All other parts required to complete are not included, for example details, bogies, wheels, and couplers. Withdrawn from sale due to changes in Shapways printing costs. Note: Moderate level of modelling skill required (If you have any experience with building rollingstock for HO/OO narrow gauge, you have more than enough). Bogie centres need to be drilled (locating dimples provided), coupler mount and bogie bolster may need to be built up with thin shim of styrene or similar depending on type chosen. The reason for this route rather than design to a prescribed set of couplers or bogies is to allow a) freedom of choice b) to allow matching to the system in use or to be able to use items easily available/recycled with out having to hack up and modify the model.
