Product Description
The Indianapolis is the second of the Portland class heavy cruisers. She was designed as a flagship and thus differed from Portland by the extended forecastle deck.
She was sunk a little after midnight of 30 July 1945 while en-route to Leyte, having been torpedoed by the Japanese submarine I-58. As she was unaccompanied at that time of the loss (and various other avoidable circumstances), her crew wasn't rescued until after three and a half days.
