Product Description
Coach 112 is a 3rd/1st class carriage in the Carnforth series Built in 1991 by the Carnforth Railway Restoration & Engineering Services. During Winter 2008-09 it had a touch up and varnish. The interior had a thorough clean with the ceiling repainted. During Winter 2010-11 the gas heating was removed and replaced with an Eberspächer heater. As with carraige 114 the previous winter the space created by the removal of the gas cabinet is not being used for more seats; the existing seats are replaced, giving more legroom and the extra window giving the carriage a far lighter feel. It was cabled and plumbed for push pull operation but this has been removed - the high vacuum reservoirs were in the way of the heater. Over the winter of 2016/17, alongside the other corridor composites, the first class was downgraded. The seats remained as before but the doors were removed from the compartment and the first stickers removed from the windows. over winter 2018/19 the first class compartments were removed and the interior was remodelled into a all third saloon. Carriages 113 is a 3rd/1st class carriages in the Carnforth series series. Built in 1991 by Carnforth Railway Restoration & Engineering Services As an aluminium bodied coach mounted on Pattern 88 bogies, and heating and is a sister carriage to NO.112. It was cabled and plumbed for push pull operation but this was removed when the gas heating was removed and new heater fitted. The original seating capacity was 17 third and 8 first. Originally shopped in the push pull livery of lined Green and Cream, in the early 2000s it was painted in unlined Red and Cream. In 2003 113 was transferred to the Welsh Highland Railway with Carriage NO.100 to form part of the F-set. The following winter it underwent major interior work when one compartment was converted to a buffet store and the interior panelling and floor covering was replaced. By November 2008 the carriage was returned to the FR having been replaced by service car NO.2010 and Pullman observation car NO.2100. 113 was back in service on the Welsh Highland Railway in 2013 due to high demand resulting in the need to strengthen the 2 WHR sets to 11 cars apiece. 113 remained on E-set until the end of the 2016 season, when it was displaced by the new carriage NO.2047. In autumn 2018 it was back in the carriage works for conversion to a brake vehicle with a toilet. This model is 1:76/009 scale and fits the Peco Lynton & Barnstaple Coach Bogies (pair). Complete with wheels and couplings. and can negotiate tight radius curves up to 12 inches. The model also requires painting, window glazing and your spare time to complete.
