Product Description

This bracket is for Rokuhan curved and straight tracks only. The track bed in this helix support is tilted 3 degrees.

Before using these brackets to build a helix, you have to cut threads in both holes with a 4-40 tap and drill set. Start the threads in the same place, in every hole.

The brackets are placed at the track connectors. The fit is tight to keep the track level. The elevation of the bracket is set by the number of turns. Each turn changes the elevation by 0.025" (0.635mm).

When using 30 degree curves, increment the elevation between adjacent track connectors by 6 turns, 0.150". When using 45 degree curves, increment the elevation between adjacent track connectors by 9 turns, 0.225". The resulting helix will be 1.8" (45.72mm) per level. The clearance from the top of the track to the bottom of the bracket in the next level, is 1.48" (37.48mm). The grade changes with the radius of the curved track.

When using 145mm curves, the grade will be 5%.
When using 170mm curves, the grade will be 4.3%.
When using 195mm curves, the grade will be 3.7%.
When using 220mm curves, the grade will be 3.3%.
When using 245mm curves, the grade will be 3%.
When using 270mm curves, the grade will be 2.7%.

The distance between each level is 1.8" (72) turns. The brackets are 0.2" (8 turns) thick, so the distance from the top of the lower bracket to the bottom of the upper bracket is 1.6" (64 turns).
