This clearance gauge is designed to be used with 1:32 Scale model railways operating on 16.5mm (HO/On30 or OO/O-16.5 Gauge) track. It is proportionally based on the clearance dimensions used by the D&RGW Railway (Narrow Gauge) and the dimensions fit well with the dimensions of cars advertised in the Fowler and Hudson catalogues. It should also work well with cars based on designs by O&K and Decauville. It will work with almost all North American industrial cars built for this gauge, with the possible exception of Koppel/Fricke/Gregg Cane Cars for Hawaii which were wider than normal. The instructions for use are engraved on the gauge. The flangeway dimensions are based on NMRA standards for On30/HO gauge to allow for compatibility with those wheelsets and mechanisms.
