3788 Scale Federation LTT with Battle Pod WEM

As light tactical transports (LTTs) cost the same money and yard space as a war cruiser, competition for funding between the fighting elements of the fleet and the logistics elements was fierce. One solution was to build battle pods and store them at starbases. As they were the size and shape of a cargo pod (but were twice as heavy), they fit the LTT easily enough, and as they carried enough weapons to turn an LTT into a heavy cruiser, they provided a justification to build more light tactical transports.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
