This plug is used to close the hole in a Cannondale CAAD 12 bike frame when using a Shimano Di2 electronic group set. There is a hole in the rear of the frame where the rear Di2 deraileur wire passes through. This plug fills that hole, grips the wire, prevents wire chaffing. The two halves are wrapped around the wire, then pushed into the hole. It will fit tightly. The plug can be removed by carefully pulling it back out with a fingernail or other soft plastic tool. CAUTION: Do not use anything hard that might scrape the frame when removing the plug. They fit very snug so they won't shake out. When installing the plug, work it in being careful not to bend or pinch the wire. Once you get a few ribs in, it should guide in more easily and press in until flush with the frame.
I also make a bottom bracket cover and downtube frame plugs for the CAAD 12 to finish the Di2 installation.

Normally you'd have to buy the entire Cannondale Synapse kit to get a single rubber plug that fits okay in that rear opening. This plug, on the other hand, completely closes the hole, securely holds the wire, and fits tightly in the frame hole. It also costs half as much as the Cannondale Synapse kit and you won't be throwing away 50% of the Cannondale kit just to get the one plug.
