Product Description
This kiteboard mount lets you fix your GoPro camera to your kiteboard without glueing. You simply use the screws that hold your fins under your board. I came across this solution because I had the problem that my camera mount that came with my GoPro didn't glue well on my kiteboard with the risk of loosing my camera. Another advantage of this mount is that the camera can be placed on the furthest edge of the board and - because kiteboards have 4 fins - with the option of 4 mounting locations.
The nuts and the GoPro thumb knobs are not included and you will have to modify a GoPro thumb knob in order to fit the base - but this is quite easy: remove the long screw from a long Gopro thumb knob and push it into a short GoPro thumb knob. That's it. Of course you can instead buy a stainless steel screw with the same dimensions.
By loosening the thumb knob in the base you can turn the insert and point the camera into the desired position. Even if the thumb knob is loose your camera won't fall off because the screw will still prevent the insert from sliding out of the base. This is great for changing the orientation of the camera on the water without the risk of dropping your camera into the ocean.
The mount will only fit standard twintip fins. If needed I can upload a version for fone's unibox design.
The mount is great for shots down from the board up to you and with the kite in the background. Enjoy!
