Product Description

This is a 1:48 (O scale) step box. This is the item you always see a conductor using to help passengers to board and exit a train stopped at a station. No station scene with a passenger train is complete without a few of these. On the prototype typically the crew would keep one of these in the vestibule of every car. Over the years and across North America, these were painted in just about every color imaginable, usually with the carrier's logo or name on the sides of it. They are still in use today on Amtrak, Via, and every tourist railroad. The original ones were made of wood then later ones, from the 1950's to today, were typically of sheet metal. This model even includes the textured step area to help passengers from slipping on wet rainy days or in the dead of winter with snow blowing
