Product Description
Astrocyathus, or Deltocyathus as it is now known, is a star coral with 6-fold symmetry that is related to the sea anemones. Star corals are an important group of reef builders due to their ability to secrete a calcite skeleton from their soft bodies. The jewelry recreates the calcite skeleton left behind by this organism as drawn by Prof. Ernst Haeckel.
