3D printed in matte translucent plastic that showcases fine and intricate details.
A monument to the great house system, the JayHawk was produced by House Astra, which had never been involved in Hawk-series production. In fact, that House had performed the conversion of dozens of old Snipe frigates into modernized Snipe-B battle frigates. Using a Snipe-B engine, which provided a plasma-F torpedo and a phaser, the engineers of House Astra were able to build a relatively small structure that could be added to the SeaHawk-A frigate. That design had already been deemed too small to survive combat during its first year of service and was relegated to convoy escorts and internal security. The first prototype conversion was made after the Alliance cut the connection between the Romulans and Klongons. Thereafter House Astra produced several conversions per year, sometimes sending their conversion structures directly to the shipyards of House Antreidies (which built the SeaHawk frigate and had forced it through the Senate and into the fleet over the objections of just about everyone). With the addition of the JayHawk center engine, the ship proved modestly capable of surviving for several more years. This ship includes a cloaking device and can carry nuclear space mines. Known names include Determined, Devout, and Immovable.
The ship is available in a variety of materials. (Smooth Fine Detail Plastic makes an excellent cloaked ship!) Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
