Product Description
This is an N Gauge model of the 1830s Robert Stephenson ‘Patentee’ class locomotive.  A 2-2-2 enlargement on his ‘Planet’ class (also available), these engines were used across Europe, many being the first locomotive used in several countries.  Consequently this model, while in its British form, can also be used as a basis for building:

Adler – Germany’s first locomotive
Bayard – Italy’s first locomotive
De Arend – the Netherland’s first locomotive (although technically built to a different gauge)

Combined with the N Gauge Planet Tender (separately available), this scratch aid enables an unpowered free-rolling model engine.  Coupled to the motorised Liverpool and Manchester Railway coach or motorised flatbed (each separately available, plus free-rolling coaches and trucks), a fully working 'Era 1' N Gauge train can be created.

Necessary to Complete:
Graham Farish Jinty driving wheels (available as spares); 10.5mm diameter including flange, 1.5mm axle
Graham Farish wagon wheels (x2)
Couplings (the method used is at the builder's discretion)
Weight (the boiler is hollow)
(NB small strips of styrene will hold the driving wheels in place)

Optional additional details to scratchbuild (at the builder's discretion):
Safety valve (drill points marked)
Regulator
Reverser level (its base is ready-included)
Axlebox tie-bars
Crew

IMPORTANT: while most models available here have been pre-tested and known to work, this scratch-aid has not been printed/tested by myself, so while the measurements appear correct it is considered strictly experimental.

I hope you enjoy this unusual and eye-catching model.
