Product Description

The FN Fabrique Nationale M-249 Minimi, formerly designated as SAW - Squad Automatic Weapon is a belt-fed light machine gun, firing the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge, manufactured by the Belgian company FN Herstal. The M-249 is manufactured in the United States by the local subsidiary FN Manufacturing LLC in South Carolina and is widely used in the US Armed Forces. The weapon provides infantry squads with the high rate of fire of a machine gun combined with accuracy and portability approaching that of a rifle. It is an open bolt and gas operated, air-cooled, has a quick-change barrel allowing the gunner to rapidly replace an overheated or jammed barrel and a folding bipod attached near the front of the gun. It can be fed from both linked ammunition and STANAG magazines, like those used in the M-16 and M-4s. This allows the SAW gunner to use a rifleman's magazines as an emergency source of ammunition in the event that he runs out of linked rounds.

This kit contains all necessary parts for assembling ONE machinegun under 1/9 scale, to be used with 200mm scale figure. The miniature is also available in x1 and x2 multipack options. Any extra diorama accessories are not included and should be purchased separately.
