Product Description

Body and chassis for an O9 (1:43.5, 9mm gauge) model of the pioneering LMS Crewe works diesel. This was the first diesel loco purchased by any of the Big 4 companies, in 1930. It worked at Crewe works for a few years before the 18" gauge system there fell out of use. After the end of locomotive working on the 18" at Crewe, it was transferred to Horwich works and put to use on their internal 18" railway until 1957 when it was scrapped. The model contains chassis frames and parts and is designed to use wheels from kb scale (9mm diameter), 2mm id eileen's emporium bearings, 1.5mm id/4mm OD ball bearings, Nigel Lawton's 10x12mm micromotor and tenshodo worm/gears. In order to complete it you will also need handrail knobs/wires, 0.5mm brass rod, 1mm round brass rod, 1mm square brass rod, and 1.5mm round rod for the layshaft, with 2mm round rod for the axles. I am working on getting some cranks, rods and works plates drawn up for etching, details will be updated when these are available.
