This is a commonly broken piece on the shifter assembly when installing aftermarket short shifters on the r52 and r53 Mini Coopers. This one specificallly is designed to reduce the slop of the adjustable Cravenspeed shifter from side to side when the stock bushing is worn or broken and make it feel tight again. I have also made a version for the stock shifter (see my shop). The part is created in two halves which you simply break apart and place over the shifter rod and push into the shifter assembly. The two halves can also accept a couple optional orings (avail seperately, PM me), and this will further reduce slop. The inside of and outside of the bushing should be lubed with white lithium grease or similar during assembly.
