4mm/ft Irish Rail/CIE Cement Bubble

New body to fit to Dapol/Airfix Prestwin Sideframes and bufferbeams (and a few other parts). Etched walkways/handrails are available from Studio Scale Models (http://www.studio-scale-models.com/Freight.shtml). For those who lament the demise of the MIR kit, or who want something a little lighter. Model is drawn from CIE wagon drawing to 4mm/ft scale (00). The model has thin trace lines on the sides of the bubble to help line up the walkways, and has the pipework on the end of the wagon (and the raised area on the other end). I have test printed this model in both Frosted Detail and Frosted Ultra Detail. Both print fine. The FUD model looks better 'in the raw' (as you'd expect!) but once painted with halfords yellow spray filler primer, followed by some grey acrylics and some weathering you can't tell the difference, so I'd probably say save your money and get the FD version! Preparation before painting consists of a quick rub down with some 800 grit sandpaper and a bath in isopropyl alcohol to clean the wax off. The top of the wagon has a hole to allow you to use the slightly incorrect filler cap from the Dapol Prestwin or the etched SSM one that comes with the ladders/walkways, depending on whether you want to fold and glue/solder the etched one up or would rather just reuse the kit parts (the hole is covered up by the hatch either way!)
