Product Description

As a boy I the Triang Big Train was one of my favourite toy trains. During my growing up and adult life my Big Train moved with me from home to home until much later my daughter came to play with it. And so did I. Many times we layed out the track at home or in the garden. When I started to experiment with 3D printing I used my Big Train as my 3D project to begin with. Using easy to use software I carefully re-measured the entire RV260 track and rebuild it in 3D. From there on I decided to go for a new type of track which has not been produced before: A track crossing! An entire new piece, build from two 3D designed pieces of RV260 changing it in a completely new track. The biggest problem was to figure out what size the crossing should be. I wanted to make an 8 figure track but I only had the RV260's and the RV261 tracks to begin with. I already had measured the RV260, the RV261 was more difficult, but after several attempts I calculated the intersection point of an 8 figure track. The Crossing_V3 is the result of it. In combination with 2 sets of the RV260_2x5bar-V3 it is possible to create a 8 figure track, together with another 4 RV260 and 12 RV261(6+6 for a 3/4 curve) What are the main features of this new model? - It will connect to the original Big Train track without problem. - A Big Train and/or wagons will pass the track smoothly as if it was the RV260, no problems running over the crossing. - Details of the model are almost 100% of the original. Are there differences between the RV260 and the new designed model? Yes!! The 3D model is made out of SLS material which has a slightly different feel than the original RV260. The 3D model has a brighter RED color than the original. The 3D model have different texting underneath the bars showing its origin and year of design.
