The connector does not fit in. The connector fits very tightly in the adapter. This will prevent the connector to slip out when you dock your iPhone.  You have to press it in with a little force. The best way is to use a table corner for this. Also, make sure you use an original iPhone lightning connector. It is not designed for any other connectors. For correct installation, this model requires the rubber cigarette holder to be removed.
