Product Description
Mid Suffolk Light Railway (Ex GER) brake third /full brake conversion
Original built as a brake third to diagram 501 in 1875. Bough by MSLR for start of proposed passenger servive and converted to a full brake before delivery. Run as no 1 on MSLR. Used with the ex Metropolitan Railway coaches until the LNER took over running and replaced coaches with ex GER 6 wheelers. The old coaches and the brake coach were then withdrawn.
A similar, but in original condition, brake third is now preserved on the Mid Suffolk line.
