Product Description
1:72 Scale!

The Cessna Skymaster is a twin-engine built in a push-pull configuration. Its engines are mounted in the nose and rear of its pod-style fuselage. The primary advantage of a push-pull configuration for twins is the elimination of the "critical engine" in single-engine flight. Conventional multi-engine aircraft experience control issues with one engine failed, where the "Centre Line Thrust" with the Skymaster only results in loss of performance, rather than control. Twin booms extend aft of the wings to the vertical stabilizers, with the rear engine between them. The horizontal stabilizer is aft of the pusher propeller, mounted between and connecting the two booms.

The detailing with this model may coincide with the O-2A variant used by the military, but should otherwise be a stock 337 Skymaster. I am planning on adding the belly cargo pack at a later time, making it the 337B variant. If you see any issues with the model let me know!

Version 1.3.0 - I've re-designed the wing with a TE of just over 0.7mm to comply with the constraints Shapeways has on materials. The wing fences have also been removed as they are aftermarket modifications, and not original to the C337. I've been looking into the required modifications to convert the model to an O-2A, complete with hardpoints for weapons. If sufficent interest is generated I will release a militarized version. Enjoy!
