Product Description
The Titan II ICBM was the successor to the Titan I that could carry twice the payload. The engines were fueled by hydrazine-based hypergolic propellant that could be stored in the missile and offered reliable ignition. This greatly reduced time required to launch the missile from its silo. Titan II carried the largest single warhead of any American ICBM. Beginning in the 1960s the Titan II was used as a medium lift launch vehicle by NASA and the US Air Force. The Titan II was also man rated for use in the Gemini missions that helped prepare astronauts for missions to the moon.
