1:12 Airfix Austin A35 W&G Van Upgrade Door Hinges

1/12 Airfix Austin A35 Wallace and Gromit Van door hinge upgrades. Take note of the location of the existing hinges that are molded onto the kit doors. The existing hinges will have to be sanded down on the doors and the female hinge half will be glued in the same location as the original top half. A pin is provided on the back of the hinge to pass through the door to aide in adhesion (may be removed if so desired).
Cut out a notch for the lower male half of the hinge to protrude through immediately under the female half. It should look/function similar to a full scale Austin car. A inner door frame will have to be fabricated for the hinges to attach to. There is a gap in the original kit between the vans shell and the dash for this door frame placement.
When compelted, the door should slide down on the male hinge pins in a similar fasion as the rear door. Do not glue the two half's together, otherwise the door wont open.

CAUTION: Parts are small and thin, may be best to print them in a metal material to prevent them from breaking. Due to printing you may need to redrill out the holes in the female half of the hinge to clear out any printing burrs that would prohibit the two hinge parts from fitting together, once assembled.
