Product Description
This one piece clip (no other parts needed) will turn your light sensor and ir led into a proximity sensor. Some uses for infrared proximity sensors are: triggering actions, such as in haunted houses; object avoidance or detection robots; and assembly line automation. Our favorite way to play with proximity sensors at home is to walk our fingers through the "House of Oscillation" optical theremin , while laughing creepily.

Here's how to use this 3D printed product: simply clip onto the light sensor so the phototransistor can "see" through the top hole and then insert the ir led into the bottom hole from below; these two holes are labeled. The middle hole, which is off center, allows access to the micro-potentiometer, so you can still adjust sensitivity to your environment without removing the clip.

Try this circuit: power + ir led + light sensor (set to light mode) + number.

What would you do with a littleBits proximity sensor?

The video is a demonstration of the circuit only, as I have not yet printed this model. The mock up is made with fused beads.
