Product Description
The Boeing 717 is a twin-engine, single-aisle jet airliner, developed for the 100-seat market. The airliner was designed and originally marketed by McDonnell Douglas as the MD-95, a derivative of the DC-9 family. Growing up I remember seeing these in the Air Tran colors before Southwest bought them up.
This 1:239 scale model is an older design of mine that I've just now optimized for Shapeways printing. The process of converting a model to something Shapeways compatible is hit-or-miss when it comes to difficulty. My older models are missing many of the design aspects I incorporated later on which makes remodeling more difficult. Fortunately most airliners have similar design features which reduces their complexity. Enjoy!
