Product Description
The Lyrans are human-sized cats that bear a distinct similarity to Terran lynxes in both appearance and temperament. Bitter enemies of the Kzintis (tigermen eight feet tall), the Lyrans are staunch allies of the Klingons and enemies of the Hydrans as well. Like Kzintis, Lyrans are carnivores known to eat their captives on rare occasions. The Federation assigned each Lyran ship-type a "reporting name" to keep them separate. Lyrans are organized as a feudal society. Twenty-one counties each have a squadron of ships led by a heavy cruiser; four dukes have dreadnoughts to lead the four fleets, while the king-emperor commanded from the capital.

The Lyran Jaguar War Cruiser was a typical war cruiser of the General War, with 90% of the firepower of a heavy cruiser at 60% of the cost. It is the equal in firepower and survivability of any war cruiser in Kzinti, Hydran, Klingon, or Federation space. The Lyrans had an advantage in that the catamaran nature of their original ships made it easy to insert a center section, in this case upgrading a humble destroyer in a savage war cruiser. It was refitted shortly before the start of the General War. The Aztek panels on the outer surfaces represent efforts to reduce the electronic signature of the refitted Jaguar and match it to the original Jaguar so the enemy could not tell the difference.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
