Product Description
Velociraptor dinosaur skull Velociraptor  is a genus of dromoaeosaurid therapod dinosaur that lived approximately 75 million years ago during the later part of the Cretaceous Period.  Smaller than other dromaeosaurids like Deinonychus, Velociraptor nevertheless shared many of the same anatomical features. It was a bipedal feathered carnivore with a long tail and an enlarged sickle-shaped claw on each hindfoot, which is thought to have been used to tackle prey. Because of its extremely bird-like anatomy and close relationship to other dromaeosaurids, paleontologists hypothesize that Velociraptor was probably covered in feathers. Deinonychus were featured prominently in the 1990 and 1995 novels Jurassic Park and The Lost World by Michael Crichton and the film adaptions directed by Steven Spielberg.  However, Crichton and Spielberg chose to use the name Velociraptor for these dinosaurs, rather than Deinonychus because he felt the former name was "more dramatic".  (Wikipedia) Part of the SKULPTURES collection. More details at: http://www.scottcamazine.com/skullptures.html Successfully Printed in Brass and Bronze
