MKT KCCX GP39-2 Fuel Tank

HO scale high clearance fuel tank for Kennecott Copper GP39-2 locomotives. This fuel tank also includes the additional reservoir and plumbing at the forward end of the tank.

This fuel tank does not have filler necks or sight gauges; these should be added using Cannon & Company 2156, EMD Fuel Tank Details. Install the dial gauge in the hole provided. Depending on the quality of the print, the holes may need to be enlarged or cleaned using the drill sizes described in the instructions.

This fuel tank is designed to fit the Athearn Genesis frame. The bottom of the frame may be ground/machined to match the height of the tank bottom (roughly 0.035" should be removed), but it is not required. Additionally, the forward end of the frame that fits into the fuel tank may be ground/machined 0.030" to properly locate it on the model, but again it is not required if you can live with the tank being 0.030" too far forward on the model.
