New York - April 26, 2017—Shapeways today announced that it has invited 3D printing designers from around the world to apply for its upcoming early access program following the successful installation of the HP Jet Fusion 3D 4200 printer. The program will provide widespread access to HP’s Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing technology, enabling Shapeways' customers to design for an industry-leading 3D printing technology, advancing innovation and creating new business opportunities.
"The new HP Jet Fusion 3D 4200 printer takes a huge step forward in 3D printing technology and we're eager to make it accessible to our community of makers. The printer lays the groundwork for next-generation features like full color plastic, conductive pathways, improved product quality, next-day delivery, and reduced costs. This in turn pushes the limits of what's possible for designers on our own platform," said Peter Weijmarshausen, Shapeways Co-Founder and CEO. "It's been a tremendous journey to work so closely with the HP team on the next generation of technology, putting us one step closer to our dream of making Digital Manufacturing an integral part of people’s lives."
Over the past year, Shapeways and HP have worked together to conduct rigorous internal production trials, optimizing the capabilities of and developing best practices for the new HP Jet Fusion 3D 4200 printer. Shapeways has always been at the forefront of using the most cutting- edge 3D printing technology, giving designers access to products printed in the highest-quality materials possible. Their vast community contributes a nearly endless variety of challenging designs, driving existing 3D printers to perform at levels their manufacturers had never thought possible, while providing invaluable critical feedback and challenging demands. This puts Shapeways in a unique position to propel the development of ever-more-robust 3D printing technologies in the years to come.
Having completed the initial testing and refinement phase, Shapeways has now opened sign-ups for the new early access program. Interested participants can learn more about the program here.
