I was wondering what software would you guys recommend to create mechanical stuff ?

Right now, I'm using Zbrush, which, according to me is great for organical models, but is definetly not the one to use for mechanical.

I'd like something precise, with efficient measurement tool would be great.

I use KeyCreator 7. It's extremely too pricey, but it is extremely accurate for what you need so if you can find it somewhere at a discount rate... lol. They also have I think called a gold edition, like a limited edition. It's basically an older version repackaged. But I believe it doesn't have solids. Also look at AutoCad and Solid Works. All pricey but great for mechanical. And you may be able to find someone nice enough to give it to you ;)

I've never used it but look at rhino. They have a free version that allows I think 5 saves but if you export it doesn't take away from your saves :D
