Where can I find the Shapejs source code?

I would like to install it locally, use it offline, perhaps hack it a bit.

In the V2 tutorial on scenes it says: "ShapeJS Scripts are Javascript programs over top the AbFab3D Voxel library."

Does that mean I can test ShapeJS scripts using AbFab3D?

AbFab3D is a Java library. ShapeJS uses Rhino to allow programming AbFab3D from JavaScript. If you want to modify the underlying engine then you should fork AbFab3D. So the source of ShapeJS is AbFab3D combined with Rhino. Both of which are open source.

A bunch of the code is available at That said my company doesn't currently want to release the GPU accelerated version as open source. So while you can tinker around with the components you can't currently run it nearly as fast. The server version runs the GPU code and its about 100X faster for most scripts.

This is good to know! I am definitely more willing to invest time into learning an open source system. That way knowledge and data can be used outside of Shapeways as well, even if speed then is lower.
