This is the first time i tried to make something that should work mechanically. Luckily the clearances were big enough and everything worked! I reused the bodies from the old birds as they were my design, and tweaked them for more stability. Everything now stands quite well. They're for sale in my shop (might have to browse through the pages): http://www.shapeways.com/shops/chrisbense which one is your favourite? deskfanbird: http://www.shapeways.com/model/153324/deskfan_bird.html?gid= ug16491 It actually rotates when you blow into it clothespinbird: http://www.shapeways.com/model/152700/clothespin_bird.html?g id=ug16491 scissorbird: http://www.shapeways.com/model/154248/scissor_bird.html?gid= ug16491 spyglassbird: http://www.shapeways.com/model/154005/spyglass_bird.html?gid =ug16491 (the minimum clearances dont allow for a very tight fit, which you can see in the last picture. But it does stay in place and can't fall out) speakerbird: http://www.shapeways.com/model/152670/speaker_bird.html?gid= ug16491 Unfortunately i dont have a video camera, as soon as i have one i will make some videos of the birds in action. Thanks to Whystler for giving me some of the ideas.
