I'm thinking of creating a sphere model that is hiding a mystery inside. If you look through the right hole, you will be able to figure out what is hiding inside.
I'll have to figure out how to arrange various shapes inside to make just the right silhouette at a certain angle.

What do you think of this idea?

I've taken a sphere and sliced it up into voronoi sections and then placed them on a scaffold. If you look through the right hole, the sphere looks right.

Here is a side view of the scaffold:

Not sure if the sphere is interesting enough.

Very interesting! I like the idea.

I would've chosen something like a ring, number or letter as the internal object. You could consider having each section of the internal object attached to the outer sphere with a separate strut, each going out in different directions. This would make it less obvious from the first look where you should be looking to make it all come together.

Thanks. I will give that a try.

I've made various changes to the design. Firstly, I reduced the number of faces for the sphere so that I could make the holes bigger. The previous holes were so small that it limited the size of the secret object and I wasn't using most of the inside space. For the new design the parts of the secret object are spaced across the width of the sphere.

If you look through the right hole, you will see that the secret object is a ring. I've used rings on the outside holes and some of these stick through the wall so they are also visible on the inside. I think this makes finding a secret right more challenging when there are so many other rings around.

Now I just have to add the struts for each of the secret pieces. I'm planning to attach those to the inside walls of the sphere in various directions.
