We don't do characters, not yet. But at 1/285 scale, our cargo trucks aren't half an inch tall. So, you are looking at tiny figures!

ADB Releases Ships for August 2021

On August 2, 2021, ADB released 18 new items to its shop on Shapeways, which has over 2,750 items available in total. This month, we released new ships for the Federation, Hydrans, Lyrans, and Carnivons. Please note that all miniatures are available in both 3788 and 3125 scales, except when noted.

The Federation starts with the Dreadnought Tug that is available in both the Federation (gridded saucer) and Fed Classic (smooth saucer) styles. This unofficial ship is introduced on a Federation Commander ship card in the July 2021 issue of Hailing Frequencies.

The Hydrans take command of squadrons with their Lord Admiral Heavy Command Cruiser and Lord Cardinal Heavy Command Cruiser. The Lord Commander Early Command Cruiser, which, despite its name, is not part of the Early Years era, is also available now.

The Lyrans and their wayward county of the Lyran Democratic Republic gain Prairie Lion Survey Carrier. Note that LDR ship is only in the 3125 Scale. The Lyrans also get the same ship in a "refitted" version with aztecking in the 3788 Scale.

Historically, the Carnivons were wiped out by the Kzintis and Lyrans before they got to the era of the "Modern Age." If they hadn't been, they would have continued to evolve their ships. These ships are described in Star Fleet Battles Module C6. Their Frigate and Destroyer are now available.

ADB Releases Ships for September 2021

On September 1, 2021, ADB released 17 new items to its shop on Shapeways, which has over 2,750 items available in total. This month we focused on the Carnivons and Jindarians. We also introduced three new tanks. Please note that all miniatures are available in both 3788 and 3125 scales, except when noted.

Historically, the Carnivons were wiped out by the Kzintis and Lyrans before they got to the era of the "Modern Age." If they hadn't been, they would have continued to evolve their ships. These ships are described in Star Fleet Battles Module C6. The Carnivons gain their Light Cruiser, Police Corvette, and Police Flagship. There is a sprue of two Police Corvettes with a single Police Flagship in command. In Omni Scale, they get a gunboat/PF flotilla with four "regular" gunboats, a leader, and a scout. The Carnivons also get their Builder Collection in 7000 Scale. This collection of six ships contains three of the most common Carnivon hulls (two light cruisers, two destroyers, and two frigates).

The Jindarians gain their Destroyer and War Destroyer.

And then there are tanks! These are all in 285 Scale. The Gorns have their Ssikg Tanks, the Kzintis have their Tigerpaw Tanks, and the Andromedans have their Legionnaire Tanks.

ADB Releases Miniatures for October 2021

On October 1, 2021, ADB released 21 new items to its shop on Shapeways, which has over 2,775 items available in total. This month we focused on the Federation, Carnivons, and the Baduvai (located in the Lesser Magellanic Cloud). Please note that all miniatures are available in both 3788 and 3125 scales, except when noted.

The Federation gets a full line of military vehicles in 285 Scale: M3 Ground Combat Vehicles, M4 Armored Personnel Vehicles, M5 Command Post Vehicles and M8 Combat Engineer Vehicles (two of each), M6 Ground Assault Vehicles, M7 Ground Weapons Vehicles, and M190 tanks.

Historically, the Carnivons were wiped out by the Kzintis and Lyrans before they got to the era of the "Modern Age." If they hadn't been, they would have continued to evolve their ships. These ships are described in Star Fleet Battles Module C6. The Carnivons gain their Dreadnought. The Carnivons also get their Core Collection in 7000 Scale to go with the Builder Collection released last month. The Core Collection of six ships contains a dreadnought, heavy cruiser, light cruiser, destroyer, and two frigates.

Described in Star Fleet Battles Module C5, the Lesser (or Small) Magellanic Cloud (LMC) is the second-nearest galactic neighbor to the Milky Way Galaxy. The Baduvai are large herbivorous quadrupeds, weighing over 2,500 pounds. They formed the Baduvai Imperium. That navy gains its Heavy Cruiser, Strike Cruiser, Light Cruiser, Destroyer, Battle Frigate, and Improved Frigate.

What's a Shapeways printing form? I thought I just bought a 1/30 scale model of a WW1 tank.Paid for it but now he says I must buy a printing form? What am I missing here? Has this become a 2 part sale? Or,did I just buy the rights to a design plan?

A Shapeways printing form? I honestly never heard of such. And you bought it through Shapeways, not a third-party site such as Etsy?

He did refund my (What I thought was full payment on a 1/30 scale WW1 tank)$$$.
Said I wasted many hours of his life. If I had known upfront the hidden details in this matter..

A pity this did not work out.

ADB Releases Miniatures for November 2021

On November 22, 2021, ADB released 48 new items to its shop on Shapeways, which has over 2,800 items available in total. We featured the Federation, Klingons, Kzintis, Gorns, Jindarians, Hydrans, and the Orion Pirates this month. Please note that all miniatures are available in both 3788 and 3125 scales, except when noted.

The Federation starts with the New Command Cruiser and the Plasma Dreadnought. Each ship is available in both the Federation (gridded saucer) and Fed Classic (smooth saucer) styles. They also gain their Pre-War Collection (two destroyers, two old light cruisers, one old heavy cruiser, and one police cutter) in the 7000 Scale.

The Klingons gain their WC10 Battleship. With more aztecking, the ship is also available as the WC10K Refitted Battleship.

The fans have been asking for the Fast Naval Transport, and it is here in Omni Scale only.

The Kzintis are here in force with their Division Control Ship, Battle Control Ship, Battleship Carrier, New Gunboat/PF Tender, and War Dreadnought. They also get a new X-Ship New Heavy Cruiser.

The Gorns gain their Fast Battlecruiser in both the regular and refitted versions.

The pirates got X-Ships! The Orions now have their Salvage Cruiser-X and Strike Cruiser-X. The latter was just recently discovered in the files.

The Hydrans gain more X-Ships for their Kingdom: the Cavalier-X Carrier, along with the Mongol-X Medium Cruiser and its hellbore-armed companion, the Tartar-X Medium Cruiser.

The Jindarians get more of their metal ships, the Heavy War Destroyer, Medium Strike Cruiser, and Heavy Strike Cruiser. In Omni Scale, they gain their Comet Gunboat/PF Flotilla. They also have their Fleet Builder Collection (three war destroyers and three frigates) in the 7000 Scale.

I built the Polar Lights TOS (the original series) Enterprise model (scale 1:350). Overall its 34 inches front to rear and the saucer is 14 inches across and it certainly looks great next to my desk with the lights on and bussard collectors rotating!

I got the motors and lights from Tenacontrols

There is also a great YouTube video series that takes you through the build process step-by-step
Updated 1:350 Scale Polar Lights TOS Enterprise Build Series Pt 1 - YouTube

The whole thing took me 4-5 months to complete and its certainly been a great lock-down hobby!
