Measurements For Creating A Snapping Lid

  1. I am trying to create a small enclosure (think Arduino, etc. -- maybe 3 x 8 x 2 cm) with a body and a lid using Versatile Plastic.

I have seen several techniques for making the lid snap securely onto the body, for example, this video shows a method with little extruded triangular groove around the inside lip:

The only question I have is what dimensions for such a thing are likely to work with Versatile Plastic. I am not sure how thick everything has to be, what the clearance has to be between the locking parts, etc. to make a secure snap-on lid that still pops off easily and can be 3D-printed reliably.

Does anyone have experience with this or suggestions for another way to do this reliably using Versatile Plastic? I'm especially looking for specific measurements so that I can print with confidence.

    Thanks!
