Material Suggestion

  1. Hi! I am a student and this is the first time i am getting something 3d printed. I am making a scaled down model of some furniture (total height of chair is 3/4"). With 0.7mm thickness, is it safe to opt for Strong and Flexible plastic? What kind of plastic is used in strong and flexible plastic? Or could you suggest any other material, which is not heavy on the pocket as eventually i will b needing about 60 of these.. thanks!! :)

Strong&flexible (laser-sintered nylon powder) is probably best, unless your furniture has a high level of detail that would require use of the more expensive acrylics. (See shop category "Miniatures/Interior Models" for examples of what others have made, 1:48 scale models appear to be about right) As a student you will probably qualify for shapeways' education discount.

  3. Thank You so much for the suggestion. Looks like Strong&Flexible is the best for me. Would you know how could I choose the education discount?
