I'm pretty happy with the recent change to Gray PA12 pricing. In fact I've started moving some of my products to using PA12 as the default material. I've noticed two things that keep me from doing that universally, though:
    • For small models, PA12 has a much higher minimum price (e.g. $7.50 vs $5.00). That prevents me from making PA12 the default for smaller models.
    • I haven't figured out the "crossing point", but there is some size where PA12 goes from being priced a little more than Versatile Plastic to being priced roughly double, making PA12 impractical for larger models in my inventory. The PA12 curve doesn't look continuous... it's like it has some large step-function at a certain size.
Are both of those effects known and on purpose by Shapeways?
