.dwg > Vrml2

  1. Good morning,
To use the Sandstone material, I need to have a VRML2 or X3D file. However I only have AutoCAD to work with, and it does not export these file options. Is there any way to convert an AutoCAD file to work with these file formats so I can make some full color 3D products?

    Thanks.

Does AutoCAD export to STL format? I have a code that converts STL to X3D format.

I don't use AutoCAD anymore but I do mess around with Autodesk's free 123D Desing from time to time. It will import DWG and export out as an X3D or WRL, which is VRML 2 .0. Also, I haven't tried it yet but, you could probably do the same with Autodesk's free Fusion 360 and their Fusion 360 companion software called Meshmixer.
