I had a request for a piece in Copper.
So obviously SW does not offer that as an option, its not a big deal to me.
But I am wondering about the reasoning behind this, anyone knows?

    Thanks, Robert

    Copper is weaker than bronze.
    Here's a video of a copper casting:

Thank you dear Lawrence.... I am aware of both.
But curious why SW does not offer copper as a material.
The best reason i could give, is that there might not be enough demand for it.

    Kind regards, Robert

  4. I would certainly be interested in Copper if it became available

There are a lot of metals and a lot of finishes.
Unfortunately we couldn't launch our Cast Metals for ALL metals out there and just had to make a choice wich ones would have been most interesting for designers.

I don't think there isn't any particular reason we haven't included Copper :)

That said, I'll forward your request to the materials team :D

    Thanks Mitchell,
I do a lot of enamel jewelry. Materials that can easily be enameled include: 18K yellow gold with no zinc content, 0.925 silver with no zinc content, 0.999 silver, 0.999 copper. Zinc leads to explosions inside the kiln, not good.
Shapeways US silver used to be zinc free, would love for that to return.
    Best Wishes,
    Lawrence

What about RECYCLABLE plastics? Is any of Shapeways plastic recyclable? Any plans in that direction?
