I have printed several small parts in steel (not stainless) that require some drilling and tapping for threads. The holes are typically small (3-5mm). Guide holes are printed into the pieces, a bit smaller, but even using a drill press with carbide bit, I can't seem to successfully drill through the material. I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to tap them, either.
Can the printed parts be annealed? If so, what sort of temperature would you recommend? I have access to a small torch, or an oven used for annealing. Thanks.
