Shapeways has raised their US shipping costs again. Without any notice given to their shop owners. I only found out as now I have customers asking me why it costs $10 to ship a tiny item I sell for $15.
Also, remember that if you are using Etsy or Shopify integrations you are now paying for the increase out of your pocket without notice.

    The new pricing is:
Standard 3-6 day. New price: $9.99.
    • This is double the price they used to charge for the same UPS Mail Innovations service.
    • History of this price level: $4.99, then raised to $6.99, then raised to $8.99. (When it was called Value shipping)
    • Standard shipping used to cost $8.99 and was proper UPS shipping with them handling your package with tracking to your door.
    • Shapeways is claiming 3-6 days, but that isn't the actual shipping time. That is the amount of days that UPS has to give your package over to USPS. From there it can take anywhere from 1 to 14 days more time, without any tracking information available other than delivered or lost.
    Expedited, 2-day. New Price: $19.99
    • This is up from $13.99 (July 2020), and used to cost $11.99
    1-Day. New Price: $24.99
    • This is up from $17.99 (July 2020)

I just noticed this as well. Can you explain a bit more about the Standard 3-6 day changes? Did the price both increase by $1, and go from a UPS door-to-door to now UPS to USPS handoff?

On April 8th they sent an email to shop owners stating the prices would change on April 15th (2020).

In that email they stated that they were removing "value shipping". What they actually did was rename "value shipping" to "standard" and removed the old standard shipping. Effectively they raised the price of value shipping to be the same as the old standard shipping. ($6.99 up to $8.99)

Now they have raised the standard price by another $1, but didn't give any notice like they have in the past.

Before the April change, I was getting the 3-6 days quoted on value shipping. After the April 15th change orders are taking longer both in production and shipping.
    • Shipped 2/10/2021, arrived 2/22/2021 (12 days "Standard" Shipping)
      • It was handed off to USPS on 2/12/2020, but this did have a weather delay due to the Texas ice storm
    • Shipped 7/15/2020, arrived 7/27/2020 (12 days, "Standard" Shipping)
      • This package took 7 days to be handed from UPS to USPS
    • Shipped 7/7/2020, arrived 7/26/2020 (19 days, "Standard" Shipping)
    • Shipped 4/16/2020, arrived 4/20/2020 (4 days, Value Shipping)
      • Ordered before the April 15th price change
    • Shipped 1/11/2020, arrived 1/16/2020 (5 days, Value Shipping)
    • Shipped 1/7/2020, arrived 1/13/2020 (6 days, Value Shipping)
    • Shipped 11/2/2019, arrived 11/08/2019 (6 days, Value Shipping)
    • Shipped 9/10/2019, arrived 9/14/2019 (4 days, Value Shipping)
    • Shipped 5/17/2019, arrived 5/22/2019 (5 days, Value Shipping)
    • Shipped 5/1/2019, arrived 5/6/2019 (4 days, Value Shipping)

Shipping prices are insane for everyone, not just them. A small box I used to ship out that cost $1.85 a year ago is now $4.50. Its certainly not Shapeway's fault. Blame the Postal administration, as they are trying to completely ruin it, so they can make the transition to privatize it look like a no brainer.. just follow the money.
