Warped Parts

    Is anyone else having a problem with getting warped parts from shapeways? My last two orders have both come with noticeable warps. I gave shapeways the benefit of the doubt on the first order but ended up returning the second because it was so bad. I'm pretty hesitant to order any more parts now as this seems to be more than a one-off problem.

    You can mitigate the warping with some internal ribbing. Not sure what material that is but if SLS plastic there are some relatively high temps involved. Straightening is also possible to some extent, a fairly crude jig should suffice. Info regarding heat and techniques for various materials can be found here. -S

    Also, is it still flexible to a degree? Depending upon what goes inside the contents may assist in removing the twist as well as temporary braces that are removed post production.
