  1. Hi All,

I am a UK Law Professor specialising in IP law, with a keen interest in 3D printing and my recent project explores 3D printing jewellery.

I want to find out how best the law can support designers like yourselves in the 3D printing, 3D scanning landscape.

It will be great to hear from you. I have put together a short survey which aims to identify design, copyright, licensing and contractual issues surrounding 3D printing, scanning and mass customisation of jewellery. Your answers will inform the law and identify gaps which needs to be addressed to provide for better protection and exploitation opportunities for designers and jewellery makers, in light of new technologies such as 3D printing and 3D scanning.

So please do get involved - and have your say! The questionnaire is short and you can be in with a chance of winning a £15 Amazon voucher!

    Thanks for your time!

    Done!

Interesting to think about this, I think we don't know enough as designers and as consumers where our rights begin and end - is every variation of a mass customization tool automatically part of the designers IP or does each permutation (done by a customer) belong to them?

Will be really interested to see your research findings!

  3. Thanks very much for completing the survey and for your feedback. Much appreciated. I will share the research findings and will do so on this forum too once the project is completed. Thanks again!
