Pendant for my wife

    I've been working on this pendant for my wife for a while now.
    I think I finally have gotten this about right. It doesn't really do anything but distract you. It incorporates two sets of planet and ring gear.
    I used Alibre Design. As you can probably tell, the gear teeth are not volutes, just half circles with the addenda smaller than the dedendum. But if you keep the axle tolerances tight, and the tooth clearance slightly looser, they seem to mesh okay.

    Wow cool, was this done in our interlocking silver or did you print the parts separately and then put them together? Love the stone setting also

    I was under the impression that raw silver didn't allow for interlocking pieces. However, I probably couldn't get that to work anyway. Some of the clearances are down to the thousands of an inch range. So yes, It's six pieces, two pieces are bonded with super glue, and the then the back is screwed on.

    cool , great work
