Wahtah@superfighterbuilder : The colored items are first polished (except black). This model is too big and fragile to be polished. It isn't really that fragile, but polishing is done in a tumbler full of ceramic beads which just exert too much force. It is possible to dye a white version with nylon dye yourself.
Wahtah@Michael_Teiniker Simple: first you write a program that changes a model so all triangles are close to equilateral and about the same size. Then you write another program that replaces all triangles with a small part of the weaving and joins them all up smoothly with the wire cross section of your choice ;-)
