Please allow me to preface this by saying that I have absolutely nothing wrong with you, your channel, or your shapeways store, in fact I have been subscribed to your channel for the better part of two years now. That being said, I do have a problem with how much is being charged for these pieces of ear protection. I understand that they are made on a to-order basis, and that that inevitably raises the price. However, shapeways charges $0.28 per cubic centimeter of this material, so being very generous with my rounding and saying that they charge 30 cents per cm3 and that the amount of material used was lets say a hefty 30 cubic centimeters, and you wanted a lofty $10 profit, the price would still only be just about $20. So lets say my assumption on the amount of material is incorrect, in order to get to the price you are charging, my estimate could be off by a maximum of about +60 cubic centimeters, adding another $20, and still being cheaper than what is being charged. Furthermore, having read your previous comment from July 5th in which you said "Most of the cost is the Shapeways cost, about 80% the rest is the mark up to make it worth my time. Wish it could be cheaper but this is sort of a premium on demand service. Sorry but still less expensive than audio ear protection and much more comfortable. Hope you reconsider.", I can say although I am still very much a beginner with 3D modeling, I have made models similar to this in not much longer than 2 to 3 hours, so your comment about making it worth your time is about as incredible as the price. Shapeways is similar to many other online merchandise stores in how all you need to do is connect a PayPal account (or something similar), upload your design along with a few pictures, tweak a few parameters, give it a name and leave it to make some money. As I said earlier, I have absolutely no problem with you, your channel, or this store, but what I do have a problem with is someone who is as safety conscious as yourself charging ~2.5 times the actual cost of the materials (with that $10 profit I mentioned earlier) on something designed to protect one of the most important and most delicate parts of the human body. Personally I feel that the models these should be available to anyone who would like to print their own, should they be fortunate enough to have a 3D printer, but as I am fairly certain that will not happen, I would hope you take what I have said into consideration and lower the price to a much more reasonable number. Thank you for your time and have a nice day, sincerely M. Katsar.
