Way late for this reply, but hopefully useful for future printers: If the hands are turning to blobs, it's because they're not cooling fast enough. The easiest solution is to print two zombies far apart on the bed. The extra travel time lets the layer cool down before a new layer is added--a very crucial aspect to finely detailed parts. You can also try slowing down the print speeds and turning up the fan speed. By moving slower and increasing airflow, you increase the chances of proper cooling before the extruder returns to the first spot.
