rancourt@Andro Might I make a countersuggestion, for consideration? You might consider just polishing the raised numerals and edges. See my comment above for a (dark) photo of mine -- Shapeways did the polishing, but I understand that folks are getting similarly awesome results with simple household metal polish, a polishing cloth, and a little diligence. That may not be what you're after, of course, but I thought I'd mention it. I'm really impressed with the two-tone effect polishing's had on the dice.
rancourt Beautiful dice. The renders really don't do the Polished Bronze Steel justice. There's a dramatic difference between the matte areas and the polished numerals and edges that's surprisingly difficult to photograph -- direct light tends to wash out the polished highlights on camera. This rather dark picture (the dice are in direct shadow here) captures what direct light obscures, though -- this is the degree of difference between the polished areas and the matte areas, and it's significant. The polished surfaces are nearly as bright as my wife's Polished Bronze Gothic Rosettes! This is a really gorgeous look for the dice, and a solid alternative to inkwashing or gouache. These are also a bit smaller than a standard plastic set, and as such, fit easily into just about any dice vault on the market -- the Large Dice set's D20 and D12 have trouble fitting into 19mm-21mm pockets, but these will fit everything, be it Wyrmwood, Elderwood Academy, Dogmight, or likely most other vault manufacturers.
Love my gold set of these, but really surprised by how much Polished Bronze Steel suits the dice, too. Beautiful work, @ceramicwombat!
rancourt Absolutely stunning in polished gold steel -- the detail level is superb, and the polish really smoothes the edges and number faces, to stand out from the textured matte surface. I had been planning to "ink" them with a metallic copper acrylic, but I'm not sure I could bear to do that, after seeing them -- they're perfect as-is! My only remaining concern will be to find a suitable dice vault with adequate space for each die, since the d20's almost an inch across (25.12mm), a bit larger than more average-sized 16mm-21mm dice. (Any suggestions?)
