Losi Micro Rally Bellcrank Conversion V32
oliverm33 Also keep in mind the servo placement that fits in Exotek chassis is not how it's supposed to be intended, placing strain on the servo and reducing the functionality to the level of stock steering linkage.
oliverm33 But if you're as stupid as me, it is possible, now you know what you need to do so at least you know what you're getting into.
oliverm33 So I ordered and went through the tedious process of figuring out how to make it work on my Losi Micro Rally 1/24 with Exotek carbon fiber chassis. Not easy or cheap but I did it. The 3racing turnbuckle kit is no longer available anywhere, so that made it really difficult. Here's a list of all the parts I needed to order to make it work: 1 x Xray 2x12mm pin (XRA981212) 1 x Losi Mini-t Servo Mount/Steering Pin set (LOSB1033) 4 x Ball bearing 2x5x2.5mm 1 x Losi Micro-t screw set (LOSB1524) 2 @ GAUI X2 FES Rotor Head Pack - 212110 (substitute for the 3Racing turnbuckle kit that's no longer available) The Gaui kit came with 3 threaded rods- the two used for steering linkage in place of turnbuckles had to be cut down to a length that would fit. I used it with a Savox micro digital servo, which had to be mounted upright, with the servo arm facing forward, as there was not enough space to mount it facing forward or sideways. I destroyed my bottom plate in the process of pre-drilling holes for the screws, as I used a 1/16" drill bit which was way too big, had to order a replacement bottom plate. To avoid running into that problem, make sure you have a 1mm drill bit- screws will not screw in without it and any larger they won't work either. Recommend purchasing a spare set of screws from Exotek. Probably more trouble and cost than its worth, would not have attempted if I knew what I was getting into. All the necessary extra parts very expensive. Better off just getting aluminum steering drag link, and custom printed 1mm thick steering linkages- wayyyy cheaper, easier and works almost as good. This is a diagram of how it goes together: http://s485.photobucket.com/user/ascik/media/ConversionBellcrank.png.html
oliverm33 Super important upgrade for the Losi Micro Rally, as the steering is the one thing that still sucks after upgrading everything else. Only problem is finding the turnbuckles required for install. The 3racing Micro-t turnbuckle set (MI-01) is discontinued and out of stock everywhere, and I haven't found an equivalent replacement yet, despite hours of searching. Any idea what to do? Consider this an essential upgrade, and would hate to not be able to complete it cuz of one thing no longer in circulation. Not a lot of info out there either.
