HO 1/87 Dry Bulk Trailer 11 - Heil 1040 Superjet
jlwills42 What is your opinion of Black Hi-Def Acrylate ? I see it being pushed by some developers. Also, I'd love to see an accurate rendition of a 1/87 scale Canadian deHaviland Beaver bush plane on floats- for a water scene I'm thinking of. regards JWills
jlwills42 I received a copy of this item about a month ago. It looks like it requires quite a bit of sanding. Has anyone used a low-powered grit-blaster (available thru Micro Mark I think) to smooth down the finish? just asking. This is a nice copy of the prototype. JonW.

jlwills42 Great car. What are the chances of doing it in HO? JonW

jlwills42 It looks like this set will fit my Kibri LTM 1100 5 axle. Does it provide steering as well? JonW

jlwills42 No- Strictly static. I'm not thinking of "toys", but display pieces. At present I am buying brass assys made by CCM, at considerable price, but they are appropriate only for the Kibri 934. The Herpa models are fine -except for the track assys which look undersize, at least according to photos of their prototypes I have seen. The "rubber band" approach used by the manufacturers -in my humble opinion- cheapen the look of the final model. I have tried the individual links by another supplier, but they do not fit over the wheels of the side-frames, and are devilishly difficult to handle. I'm thinking of a one-piece unified "casting" of just the tracks themselves or of the entire sideframes. Thanks for your consideration jonw
jlwills42 I'm intrigued by your stand-alone 14t undercarriage assy. I do a lot of work w/ Kibri & Herpa excavators. Would it be poss. to do just the track assy for these models, to replace the stock rubber parts? eg the Kibri 934 & 974, Herpa 954, or even a complete version of the Norscot D5? Just curious, as the "rubber band" tracks on these products really disappoint me. Jon W
